Yes, actually it is a legal requirement under three statutes in English Law! The Furniture and furnishings (fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 (as amended 1989 and 1993) coupled with the Consumer Protection Act 1987, requires that all upholstered furniture are fit for purpose including retardant against ignition. This also needs to be held against the stringent General Product Safety Regulations 2005 (GSPR), Premier FR always meets these strict legal requirements.
Whereby a manufacturer exercises reasonable steps to avoid committing an offence, for example applying the minimum amount of fire-retardant chemical to ensure legally compliant retardant burn times are adhered to.
